Sample Photo Album |
Before you begin adding thumbnails to your web page you need to
decide how you would like to have them displayed. Usually they are set
in tables like all the examples below.
Think about the following:
* Do you want the description of the image to display when you move your
curser over the image?
* Would you prefer to place a description and details next to the image?
* Would you like to use a cropped image for your thumbnail?
Below each example there will be a box with the code for creating that
thumbnail set up. You may copy and paste this code into the HTML of
your webpage BUT remember that you must change any URL inks,
images, 'alt' descriptions, and text to suit your needs.

How you set up the tables for your thumbnails is very important for
how you view the images and text. Vertical and horizontal spacing
be set to keep your cells looking uniform. Adjusting your cellspacing
and cellpadding can give your borders a different look. |
Here is another look for thumbnails. The borders and background are
not visable. The thumbnail shows the full image in reduced proportion.
The roll-over titles are simple but do not give a very good description
of the image. The roll-over descriptions are valuable when text is not
provided or when, for one reason or another, your image does not show. |

This is a variation using the same photographs as above. The
thumbnails are made by cropping a portion of the original image. This
can give the viewer a better idea of what the picture is as sometimes
a full image thumbnail shows very little detail. Compare these
thumbnails to those in the previous example. The roll-over gives
a brief title to the image and text appears below the image. This is a
great way for constructing a family album. |
